Different types of stairlifts that you can use
November 25th, 2008Stairlifts have been a blessing for the physically disabled ever since their invention in the 1920s. Stairlifts are basically machines meant to take disabled people up and down stairs. It is essentially a rail attached to the side of the staircase with a seat attached to it that runs on electricity or batteries, moving the chair along the rail, up or down along the stairway.
Stairlifts are available for private use in a home. The most common type is the seated stairlift. This isn’t really suitable for wheelchair users.
The other type of stairlift is meant for wheelchair-bound people. They usually run on electricity which can be a problem during loss of power. Battery powered stairlifts are also available.
It does not matter whether you have a long staircase or a short one. Choose the right stairlift and give it full consideration as it is a one-time investment for a better life.
